She is currently on secondment to the University of London and the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries conducting a feasibility study into collaborative periodical storage.

Title: Talking to the Trade

Summary:  This session is being held by the immediate past chair of the CILIP Rare Books Group, Sarah Dodgson, in conversation with Laurie Hardman of Broadhursts, a member of the Council of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association.   This session will be a dialogue covering areas of mutual interest, including de-duplication, methods of disposal and theft, with a view to encouraging librarians to take an interest in creating better relations with the Trade.

The Antiquarian Booksellers Association was founded in 1906 and now plays an active role in the regulation and monitoring of the market in books both in the UK and internationally.

The Rare Books Group has created CILIP policy guidelines on the Sale and Disposal of books from library collections and is currently working to re-issue updated guidelines on theft and the recovery of items stolen from library collections in the UK.
