JOANNE HACKETT

Biography: Joanne Hackett is the ILS coordinator for the Higher Education Academy Information and Computer Science Subject Centre. Joanne works to support Library and Information Science Academic Departments to promote and disseminate best practice in teaching and learning within UK higher education. She has worked at the Centre for just over two years, prior to which she has worked in FE and academic libraries.

Title: Breaking the Mould: Non-traditional roles for the information professional.

Summary: Joanne will reflect on her role within the Information and Computer Science Subject Centre and it's place within the information profession. She will also discuss the development of skills through this post, both professional and transferable and how her employment in what is perceived as a non-traditional role has impacted on her progress towards Chartership.
