Title: It's not ALL over till the chairs are stacked...the press, promotion and local studies

Summary: Local studies librarians do not need convincing that the imaginative promotion of their collections can provide a unique link between libraries and their local communities. But how to get your work into the local news and keep it there? Your innovative local studies events need publicity to attract the public, journalists need to supply original scripts to fill their columns or the airwaves - a good working relationship with the local media makes elementary sense.
