Title:
Assessing impact – how many
ways?
Summary:
How do our users value our library
and information services? Do we have an impact on their work, study,
confidence, well-being or self-esteem? The presentation will provide
guidelines on assessing service impact, based on the research evidence
from various impact studies. In our search to find the ‘best value',
we sometimes forget that impacts may appear negative, not positive.
A framework for questioning the possible impacts, negative and positive,
of resourcing decisions will be presented.
